I haven't updated with my recent knitting. First I was all showing my spinning from the Tour de Fleece, but neglected my knitting. Life's been a little crazy!

I finished some socks. (In August. *cough*)
Charade Socks - Finished
Charade [Rav link] by Sandra Park, knit with Conjoined Creations Flat Feet. A fun knit that wasn't too mindless and wasn't too difficult. I started these in Brazil earlier this year. Only modification was to add extra stitches around.

I started off the Tour de Fleece with the grand plan of spinning up one 1 lb. braid of fiber. With that goal, I failed.

At the first, I felt I had plenty of time. I wanted to finish up a project that I had just barely started at Knitting Pirate's house. I spun a lot of merino that I had fed through a drum carder. Tore the bats into little hand size bits and spun them from the fold. The finished two-ply is really soft and snuggly. I look forward to knitting with it.

Oh what is this? Oh this is a knitting post.

Since I hurt my wrist over the summer knitting, I haven't been as diligent with updating my knitting, but since I pulled out a pair of socks during the Olympics, it is okay to catch up.

I've finished a few things since the sweater.

Summers are always busy and I never post quite when I intend to. These arrived on my doorstep a bit early, but here I am posting about them after my birthday.

I just found all my photos from Australia on this computer, so I thought I would put up a few to share on my Flickr account. Hoping to use it for a few other things besides cataloging yarn.

Even though it isn't autumn by the calendar, it certainly feels like it in the weather. The leaves aren't really turning yet, but I'm appreciating long sleeves and tea.

What this means is it is time for hats!

So, remember all that wangsting about modding sock patterns?

Turned out to be pretty much unnecessary. (In this case. I'm sure the wangsting will return at a future date for another sock project.)

After ripping out my first try, the modded try and then the simple stockinette swatch, all I needed to do was go from a US 1 (2.25mm) needle to a US 1.5 (2.5mm) for the cuff and then back down for the rest of the sock.

So, while in Kentucky, I finished off the first sock. And I was so incredibly smart that I forgot to bring the larger needles for the cuff with me.

Oh well, guess I have to start another sock then.

Woe is me.

And I have a mystery flower in my front garden! I think it migrated from a neighbor's house, but I have no idea what it is. It has fleshy leaves like a sedum.

I haven't posted much about spinning since I got Philomena, but I have been spinning. I got copies of Hands on Spinning by Lee Raven and Start Spinning by Maggie Casey, plus a number of issues of Spin-off, so I've been immersing myself in learning.

Welcome, summer!

Snake photos! I've been meaning to get around to these for... 2? 3? years. Paul graciously assisted, while Lua tried to pull my shirt off.

I finished this up right before flying to Kentucky and wove in the ends last Saturday. Behold the Mossy Scarf!

It's a nice width, somewhere between a shawl and a scarf, so it can be used for quite a few things.

Very warm, yet light. Wonderful soft texture to wear against the skin.

Yarn: Fleece Artist Goldilocks in an unknown colorway, purchased from Romni Wools
Pattern: Inspired from the Airy Scarf, but I was just going on memories of the pattern
