starfallz: (knitting)

I haven't updated with my recent knitting. First I was all showing my spinning from the Tour de Fleece, but neglected my knitting. Life's been a little crazy!

I finished some socks. (In August. *cough*)
Charade Socks - Finished
Charade [Rav link] by Sandra Park, knit with Conjoined Creations Flat Feet. A fun knit that wasn't too mindless and wasn't too difficult. I started these in Brazil earlier this year. Only modification was to add extra stitches around.

Mariah... is almost done...
Mariah - All sewn up
My aim was to get Mariah done for the fall. I didn't quite make it, but all hope is not lost. Everything is seamed up and ready to go. Just needs a warm soak and a zipper. Only mod with this was to adjust where the sleeves ended, although they may end up being very long despite that, and knitting on a collar instead of continuing for the hood. I thought a hoodless Mariah would be more useful when going into the office occasionally.

And babies. Oh the babies.

Baby Blanket 1
Waves of Gold - Midway
This is for my ex-coworker's baby, due in mid-January. Knitting it with some Cascade 220 Superwash, which has an interesting texture. It seems to really need to be washed and dried in the dryer to work correctly. By looking at the amount of yarn I have left, I seem to be a little over halfway done.

Baby Blanket 2
Ripple Blanket - First pattern section
Knitting the Ripple Blanket (modification of the Cozy Shawl) with my hand-dyed, hand-spun yarn. I am loving working with the yarn, although it isn't the most consistent. I'll either work on it until the yarn runs out or I deem it large enough.

And... Socks!
Stormy Seas - Second start
I cast on these during a fit of frustration and they haven't been all that helpful at relieving frustration yet. I knit them as according to the directions, but was suspicious that although the lace pattern would be plenty stretchy, the twisted rib cuff wouldn't be.... and I was right. I ripped back and cast on 70, and then ripped back and cast on 80. I'm hoping 80 is the charm and won't be too loose in the lace parts. Knitting it with some Lorna's Laces sock yarn, so of course I'm using 00 size needles.

Desperately hoping to finish up some more of these large projects so I can cast on for some quick and dirty hats or something else that is quick to satisfy.

It's fun and portable! Also, I find it great during meetings when I might be distracted otherwise. :)

Thanks! It was neat to see how they knit up from the Flat Feet flat.
