Knitting

Duuuuuuuuude

The Chicken Viking hat and the Lil' Devil Baby hat, both knit with Debbie Bliss Cashmerino.

Gryffindor scarf for a friend.

Based on the Atypically Knit PoA pattern, but instead of knitting in the round, I halved the stitches and knit flat in a 1x1 rib, using Cascade 220. Will not do again, as it is a royal PITA to weave in the ends. Not happy with finishing.

Detail shot.

Pets

Size comparison. Lua (snake) and some dork.

Close up of Lua.

Tongue-flicking action!

Chilling in her enclosure.

Rune hanging out on the porch and trying to ignore the camera in her face.

I like her cheek ruffs.

That is one cute dork! Love the hats, 'specially the chicken one.

When I've got a bit more time, I'm going to try sizing it up for adult heads. The designer said she'd love a copy of the pattern if I get it to work out.

The chicken hat is awesome! So glad I sent you that pattern! :D

You really are amazing at this for having just started. SO envious of your many artistic talents. :)

Thanks dearie. I haven't exactly just started, but just started for real, I guess so. It's just two sticks and some string, really. :)

Hee! That would be awesome. Who doesn't want chicken butt on their head? =)

Thanks! It is 100% wool, so it should be nice and warm in the winter. I'm going to make one for myself soon.

Wow I love that first picture of Rune, she's so cute :)

Indeed. I have a couple of other ones with less guarded expressions. I might post them later.

Build a Bear, I saw a Build a ber in thar. Nice to know that I'm not the only one. They look great! The cat hats are cute.

Indeed it is! A friend had a Build-a-bear party for her birthday last year and I swore I would get the WWF animal, which ended up being a lion. I seem to collect stuffed lions for some reason.

Lua is gorgeous! :D And of course Rune is too, but I think she knows that. ;)

Indeed she does. :D Lua is eventually going to grow to be 7-8 feet long. I'm guessing she is somewhere about 3-4 feet now, but it is so hard to measure her.

Can you use a bit of yarn to match her length and then measure that?

If I didn't know it would involve handling dead rodents, I'd totally love a snake.

I'll probably be posting a quick movie of Wilhelm catching a cricket later. ;)

Yay! I would love to see Wilhelm hunting.

The dead rodents thing isn't bad.... just smelly at times. :D

In this way, she bears a remarkable resemblance to a penis, no? :D

Except for the fact that her length doesn't change depending on her mood....

Thanks! It is from a painting by Franz Marc, one of my favorite painters, called "The Little Blue Horses". http://cgfa.sunsite.dk/marc/p-marc9.htm
