My next sock plans are for a pair of Widdershins (ribbed version) in some Trekking XXL that I've had around for forever. But first, I have a few other things needing to be knit, namely some armwarmers for nagitaka and another pair of legwarmers for me. Iowa is a cold cold place.

Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock in Ravenscroft and Atomic #6. I'm sorting through my patterns to find something interesting for each of these. I'm toying with the idea of Nagini and New Year's Day Socks.

Yea, I've had some mediumweight around that I picked up at the Maryland Sheep & Wool, but I haven't tried it yet. The base yarn looks rather different than any of the other handpaints I've seen around.

Or you could pick a varigated sock yarn that has really strong color pooling tendencies. One of these (I didn't look to see if both did it) color pools in a swirl opposite of the textured swirl. :D
