Mariah swatch

Mariah Swatch Mariah Swatch
Swatch for Mariah. Yarn: Andean Silk in Leaf.
Finished the gauge swatch. Did the first section of the cable from the sleeve of Mariah and I think it turned out pretty well. Need to recheck the gauge and see if I got it. Yarn is a little expensive, but it is lovely to the touch.

Beautiful! Is the yarn made of silk?

Partially! It gives it a really nice shine. The fiber percentages are 55% Super Fine Alpaca, 23% Silk, 22% Merino Wool

Wow! I'm not really sure what that is supposed to be (what's a swatch? just something decorative?) but it's really beautiful! =)

Thanks! A swatch is a test to see how a yarn knits up before you embark on a full project. In this case, I'm testing to see how this yarn knits up and how the cables of the pattern look in it.

Wow, that's awesome... I'm still scared of doing cables.

Oh, they are so easy. Rediculously so. :) Now, doing this chart is more complicated, but in essence, cables are just switching the order of things.
