I've been quiet on the knitting front lately. Knitting on a project I can't quite reveal yet and a pair of socks that are slowly growing doesn't make for much excitement.
After binding off the secret thing, I cast on for a quick-to-please project for myself, which I just finished up yesterday.

Pattern: Ester by Alice Bell
Source: Knitty.com
Materials: Cascade Ecological Wool (8087)
Needles: US 8/5.0mm Circulars; KnitPicks Options
Amount: A bit less than 1 skein

This was a fun knit. It got a bit tedious at the "halfway point", when the stitches on the needles almost triple, but the cables were still very engaging and easy to do while watching Battlestar Galactica. The yarn is very nice to the touch and pleasant to work with. I still have to see how it does once it takes a bath, but I think it will come out nicely.
Since finishing that, I cast on a gift for my grandmother, Jared Flood's blanket version the Hemlock Ring.

Hope those socks get finished up soon...
