Weekend of making. I even wished I could make even more than I did.

Trying my hand at stranded colorwork. Not too hard after a while. I may even come out of this with some ability to do continental knitting.

A heel... but toe-up... with a flap heel? Because it is fun to go backwards, Widdershins. I did show this before... sometime in February. I got it up to the increases for the heel, and then decided I wanted it ribbed, so I ripped it all the way back down to the end of toe and started again.

And something I've been meaning to do for ages (or at least, since I found the half yard of ikat cloth in my pile of fabric), I sewed some stuff together.

Now, I never said I was good at sewing. This project made me doubt my ability to sew straight lines, but I think the fabric may have conspired against me. And I could probably use a huge ruler and rotary cutter, which I do not need until I actually feel the need to acquire another hobby, like quilting.

Although it isn't perfect, it is quite useful. Case to contain all my double-point needles and so I could gleefully throw away all the wrappers.

I like the skull and crossbones motif. Are you planning on making anything in particular with that, or just practicing? Also, I recently bought some Essential sock yarn from Knit Picks, and I was planning on making myself a pair of Widdershins. I've tried knitting toe up socks before, but I could never get the short row parts right, so I'm hoping this pattern will work better for me.

I don't want to think about quilting. Every time I think about it, I'm tempted to take it up as a hobby. And then I found out that the company which owns KnitPicks also has a quilting-based site....

Most of the really lovely fabric I bought came from an eBay company based in Cedar Rapids. Janes unique Fiber Boutique or something like that. It comes up if you look for Japanese fabric on eBay.....I just think it's beautiful....now where is my stash????
