no better weather to drive

Thinking about using Christmas money to buy the pattern and yarn for a cardigan. Thoughts currently are of two patterns by ChicKnits.com.

  OR
Specified yarn and available colors   I like the modifications done by this knitter. This pattern also has many recommended yarns.
Any thoughts?

I'll take one of each.

what? :)

I think the one on the left would look good on you.

I really like the patterns made on the one on the right. But both would be awesome.

[All of your knitting posts make me want to explore it sometime. Er. Beyond knitting with steel, anyways. >.>]

I'd vote for the one on the left. Unfortunately, the one on the right only looks good on certain people... I guess I'm biased, as the wraparound look never seems to look good on me.

Actually, that photo is kind of wonky, but I didn't want to repost the one by the knitter I linked to in the text below. Take a look at those and you'll see it is a true cardigan, not a wrap.

I like the longer version in the modification. The one in the original photo makes the torso look pretty short and squat, but I like the lines on the modification.

I'd vote for the one on the left, too, but that may be because the model looks more like you. But I do like the zipper better than the wrap.

I too, prefer zippers on cardis, so my vote is for the one on the left. :D

I like the ribby cardi better. The ribbing, sleeves, and general shape. It seems like it's more suited to your style and body shape, or, like [livejournal.com profile] cafiorello said, it could be that the model looks more like you. :)

Go ribby! Everyone's doing the Ariann one right now, but I don't know as I've seen another blogger do the Ribby one. Besides, it's sporty, yet cleanly done. It could be as casual or as dressy as you make it. Very, very pretty.

Hahah, oh knit blogging. I did notice the Ribby KAL isn't really active any more. I was going to sleep trying to figure out which colors of the yarn to use since none of them are really fantastic combinations to me although there is always doing it in one color too.

Ribby Cardi. Don't know why. Just seems more you.

The ribby cardi reminds me a lot of stuff you already have, so while I know it would look good on you, I vote for the Ariann because it looks cool and different. I really like the openwork on it. While I understand why you like the mods done by the other knitter, I really think the original version would be a neat change of pace on you. :)

Well, the mods she made are making it longer and not using the belt. That's it. I wouldn't use the belt anyway and I like my sweaters to be a bit longer than my shirts. :)
