I'm sure there will be a bunch of reminders of this today....

I still remember twenty years ago, sitting in my 5th grade class watching the twin trails on the TV set. The boys were drawing pictures of it for weeks later and I was disgusted with them. Maybe it was their way of dealing. I don't know.

Today, it still makes me incredibly sad. A lot of dreams died that day.

I hadn't thought about it before, but I'm now thinking about the different reactions to the Challenger and the Columbia. Both were viewed as disasters, but Challenger was more of a traumatic experience, I think. And it's not just because of the passenger list, either. Could we have become *that* jaded from the first loss to the second one? Sure, there were investigations. But we've moved on from Columbia much more quickly than we did from Challenger. In fact, *have* we moved on from Challenger?
