With great joy, I can announce my first published pattern!

Melusine - Detail
Melusine, published in The AntiCraft.

I got the idea for this back in 2007 and worked on it through most of 2008, from knitting to dyeing to wrestling it into a shape to be published. I'm glad it is finished and out there for others to see.

Melusine - Knitted
Finished shawl, before dyeing.

Melusine - Dyed
Finished painting of the dyes.

Melusine - Final
Finished shawl.

That's a really beautiful pattern!

I'm exceedingly impressed by where its name was derived, because "looks like dragon scale" was the first thing that popped into my mind.

Whoa. I never would have thought of dyeing a shawl after it was knit. I could totally see this in a Phoenix version, dyed in reds & oranges & yellows.

Um, Hi! I have followed you from Anti-craft to Ravlery to here to say that this is stunning, imaginative, amazing, gorgeous and wonderful beyond my ability to express in language. I *love* the way you painted the scales, esp. the brighter ones nearest the top. Brilliant eye for detail and the shading really makes the colors pop!

I'm a beginning knitter (just having learned simple cabling and hoping to graduate to "non-rectangle" soon) but this is on my list!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful - congrats for the publishing but most of all - THANK YOU for publishing!
