A photo or two from this weekend...

The start of my Feather and Fan socks (pattern from Socks, Socks, Socks)...

The yarn is Cherry Tree Hill in the colorway Life's a Beach. I love the way this yarn feels to knit with. I'll see if the yarn and pattern are elastic enough for my big foot.

Rune was hanging around on the porch while I took pictures, so here's one of her.

I can't thank you and Cougrr enough for getting me knitting. I can't do the fancy stuff, but I'm trying more and more new things, and I'm getting my own idea for different things. I'm having so much fun!

I never really understood the appeal of knitting until about two weeks ago, when I just moved to Portland and wa sstaying in a hostel. There I met a hardcore knitter, who churned out several scarves in several days. :O I never realized how rewarding it was, it always seemed like it'd be too tedious and labor intensive! I may have to get her to teach me how. :)

Yea, I think I've been using it as a way to be creative without doing the art thing. I love looking at the colors of the yarn, which is something you might really enjoy, and feeling the fiber. It is very soothing, yet creative and interesting. :)

I brush her about once a week and I've only had to cut out a mat once. She seems to have an easy to maintain coat for a longhair.
