I was eight. We were in Florida for the week, and we watched the launch on TV. I was sitting on the floor next to my grandfather's recliner. NASA has a nice memorial up on their site for Apollo 1, Challenger, and Columbia that made me get all teary-eyed, remembering.
Challenger is quite possibly the first memory I have of a world event, something bigger than just what happened in my little neighborhood.
